We are committed to providing a unique and safe environment for dancers to grow, discover, and challenge themselves through the art of creating quality movement, instilling technique, and learning life skills to carry into their future. Our team of instructors are passionate about helping dancers of all levels achieve their goals and reach their full potential as dancers and human beings.

The Movement Lab was born in Fall 2023 from a bold vision: to create something different for dancers in Merced. What started with one dedicated competition team placing their trust in directors Aidan Perry and Kaylee Livria quickly became the foundation of a movement built on passion, creativity, and community. Together, this small but fearless group stepped onto stages alongside larger, established studios, proving that heart, hard work, and belief in one another could compete with anything.

When The Movement Lab first opened its doors, there were just 17 dancers and a dream. Parents, family, and friends rolled up their sleeves to help bring that dream to life—searching for a studio space, installing dance flooring, building ballet barres, and creating a place that felt like home. Behind the scenes, Aidan developed the studio’s brand, business foundation, and vision, helping shape the identity that makes The Lab what it is today. Now entering the 2026 season, The Movement Lab proudly serves more than 150 dancers each week through technique and performance training. Home to both the Elite Team and The Lab Crew competition programs, the studio has grown into more than a place to dance—it’s a space where artists, athletes, and leaders are developed through creativity, teamwork, discipline, and connection. There is a place for everyone at The Lab.

As co-directors, Aidan and Kaylee continue to be the creative force behind the studio’s evolution. Having danced side by side for over eight years, their partnership blends innovation, artistry, style, and leadership to inspire dancers to grow both on and off the stage. They challenge each other to dream bigger, push boundaries, and create meaningful experiences through dance.

What began as a leap of faith with a small group of dancers has grown into a thriving dance family. The Movement Lab is proud of the impact it has made within the Merced community, bringing fresh energy, authentic dance education, and opportunities for young dancers to build confidence and lifelong skills. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey—and we're just getting started.
